This is a major exhibition showcasing the work of pioneering and influential photographer Peter Henry Emerson. The show explores his use of new techniques and technologies to record traditional East Anglian life at the end of the 19th century. These evocative photographs and albums of the Northern broads and waterways are drawn mainly from the Royal Photographic Society and National Museum of Photography, Film & Television collections.

 

Published to coincide with the exhibition, The Old Order and The New: P. H. Emerson and Photography, 1885 ­ 1895 features new essays and over 65 colour plates.
